               In this blog we see about how to handle a firearm, before going into the blog we must know the safety rules about firearms to prevent the accidents.  The rules are

1.) Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
2.) Keep the muzzle pointed in the safe direction.
3.) Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
4.) Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
5.) Know how to use firearm safely.
6.) Store firearm and ammunition safely.
7.) Wear appropriate protective wear.
8.) Never use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting.

let we see details about the above subheadings,

1.) Treat every firearm as if it is loaded:
               Always assume that a gun is loaded, even if you believe it is not.  This mindset reduces the risk of accidental discharge.

2.) Keep the muzzle pointed in the safe direction:
              Never point the firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.  This includes keeping it pointed away from yourself and others at all times.

3.) Keep your index finger off the trigger until ready to shoot:
           Only place your finger on the trigger when you have aimed at your target and prepared to fire.  This helps prevent accidental discharges.

4.) Be sure of your target and what is beyond it:
            Always identify your target and be aware of what lies beyond it. Bullets can travel through targets and hit unintended objects or peoples.

5.) Know how to use firearm safely:
                Familiarize yourself with the firearms operation, including how to load, unload, and safely handle it. before handling read the firearms manual and get proper training. 

6.) Store firearm and ammunition safely:
                When not in use, firearms should be stored unloaded and locked in a safe place, separate from ammunition.  This prevents unauthorized access and accidents.

7.) Wear appropriate protective wear:
                Always use eye and ear protection when shooting to safeguard against injuries from noise and debris.

8.) Never use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting:
                 These substances can impair your judgment and reaction times, increasing the risk of accidents.

Now we talk about handling the firearms, I hope all of you understand the above international firearms rules and regulations.

1.) Check the firearm before going to take:
                   You must check the firearms condition before going to take, whether the firearm is functioning or not also you must check any crack or material defects founds in the firearm, make sure that the firearm is in good working condition.

2) Loading the firearm:
                    Pointing the firearm in safe direction such us upward or downward, better you can point the firearm into downward direction.  After pointing in safe direction you can load the magazine, make sure that the magazine is fully seated or not.  Pull the charging or cocking handle.  Now you are in battery mode.

3.) Put the firearm in safe position:
                    After pulling the charging handle the firearms is ready to fire, if you are not firing means you must put the gun into the safe mode by using the selector.

Firing stance

1.) Assume a stable stance 
  • Standing: Feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bend.
  • Kneeling: One knee on the ground, the other leg bent with foot flat on the ground.
  • Prone: Lying flat on the ground, body aligned with the rifle.
         The below figure represents the three types of shooting such as Standing, Kneeling               and prone on a self-loading rifle.







2.) Grip and shoulder:    
  • Dominant hand: Grip the pistol grip firmly.  
  • Support Hand: Hold the handguard of foregrip for stability.
  • Shoulder the rifle: Place the buttstock firmly against your shoulder.   

Aiming 

1.) Sight alignment:
              Align the front and rear sights or optic with the target.  Ensure the front sight post         is centered and level with the rear sight aperture.

2.) Sight picture:
                 Place the aligned sights on the target.  Focus on the front sight while keeping the       target in view.

After firing

1.) Release the trigger: 
                 Slowly release the trigger until you feel and hear the reset, if firing multiple                rounds.

2.) Reassess:
                  Reassess the target and surroundings for additional threats or the need for more          shots.

3.) Engage safety:
                  If no more firing is needed, switch the safety selector back to safe position.

Unloading after firing

1.) Remove the magazine:
                   Press the magazine release and remove the magazine.

2.) Clear the chamber:
                    Pull the charging handle to the rear and it is catches by the bolt catch also the           breech is open.  Visually and physically inspect the chamber to ensure it is empty.

3.) Eject the chambered round: 
                    If there was a round in the chamber, it should eject when you pull the charging       handle.  Check the chamber again to confirm it is empty.

Safety and maintenance 

1.) Engage safety:
                     After completing the firing, you should put the firearm in safe mode to prevent accidental discharges.

2.) Maintenance:
           After firing, clean the barrel by using pull through technique also clean the moving parts of the firearm and put the lubricants.  And make sure that the firearm in good working condition.
